Kindly in Kerry

Day 8: the Ring of Kerry treated us very well today!

With an early start, our bus headed off to take a tour of the Ring of Kerry, a popular scenic tour near the Atlantic coast of Ireland.

The tour consisted of constant pit stops along the way for scenic photo ops. We went to a small tourist place called the Red Fox Inn, where I experienced my first Irish coffee. We later roamed to the town of Waterville, a place along the coast where Charlie Chaplin frequented, and the town of Sneen for lunch.
Irish coffee, which consists of Irish whiskey, coffee and Irish cream. YUM!

While on our pit stops, people sold crafts, goods and panned for money by having animals available to hold and pet. Accordions occasionally lingered in the background, as well.

Pictures say it better. And the weather was sunny and clear all day, so that helped. :)

Along the way, I got to hold a baby fox! One of the people sitting at a coach stop had a dog, baby sheep and a baby deer and fox.

Since foxes, squirrels and kangaroos are my favorite animals, I was very happy. :)

Continuing on with our tour of the ring, we captured more scenic views that even photos can't explain as well as the human eye can.

Upon our return to the hotel, some of us ventured into the small town of Killarney. It was very cute, as any typical Irish town with shops would be.

I purchased the grand Irish flag earlier in the day to help decorate my room when I get back to the states; hopefully it can be a good reminder of my time here!

Tomorrow we visit King John's castle and have a banquet at Bunratty. I LOVE castles and Robin Hood, so it should be a grand time!

Cheers,

Kelli
